One thing we wanted to do with Triple W is showcase shops. So far, we've been able to show you some builders and different work being done, but now we're proud to bring you our first installment of "Shop Tour".

Over the New Year's weekend we were able to swing down to Dallas, Texas and visit some shops. Some of them are small, some are big, and some are on TV. It was a great trip, and I took a batch of pictures to show you guys.

So without further ado, the first shop we visted was Hale's Speed Shop.

We first found them at the Goodguys in Texas Motor Speedway. We had walked around all day, saw a bunch of cool cars, and then we saw them all lined up at the edge of the track. It was pretty menacing seeing all these bagged trucks together.

That was several years ago, and I've kept up with them on Facebook and Instagram since. When we went to DFW, we knew we had to see if we could talk with them. They don't do tours hardly at all because they're so busy, but they kindly let us in for about a half hour to chat and see some of their work. If you're in the truck game at all, you've probably seen some of their work like the twin turbo Apache...

Just do a quick YouTube search for "Bare Metal Apache" and you'll find videos of this old, unassuming truck roasting tires and drag racing.

Let me break this shop down for you. Two guys, LS motors, custom frame work, lots of trucks, turbos, '54 Chevys, and a few muscle cars. No matter what comes out of this shop, it is super clean, built to be reliable, can touch the ground, and might be pushing 1000+ horsepower... So don't mess with the old rusty trucks scraping asphalt in the DFW area.

Here's what they were working on when we came by. The frame is for a '58-'59 Chevy truck. It's got their own two link, built to handle a thousand horsepower and get down on the ground, and Delmo Specials by Intro. The '54 Chevy with LS power and bags is being built for a sixteen year old girl - probably the luckiest sixteen year old girl in the world. Can you imagine that being your first car?

Their engine of choice - the LS (notice the bottles of nitrous). We asked them about which LS motor they prefer, and they like the 6.0 out of Escalades. Why? They say they're always in good shape because of the way people drive a luxury SUV.

Some of the cars awaiting the Hale's Speed Shop treatment.

This was just the first stop of the three shops we were visiting, but, in my opinion, it was definitely the coolest. We want to thank Nate and BJ for letting us in and for building such cool rides. Keep it up guys and we'll see you at some show soon.

For more pictures of their builds, check out the Facebook page here and their Instagram here.
