If you guys don’t already know about Delmo, you need to catch up. This guy has built some (ok, a ton of) incredible trucks in the past few years, and he’s probably building more of them as you read this. He has created his own unique style by matching patina trucks, Porterbuilt suspension, and AccuAir. You might be thinking other people have already been doing the slammed patina look, but not with smoothie wheels and original hubcaps. That’s the “Delmo” look.

Blackbird, a truck built by Delmo, shows off the low slung, patinaed truck look with smoothie wheels and hubcaps.

These style wheels became so popular that he now makes his own with Intro Wheels instead of going through Centerline, and they’re called Delmo Specials. We would love to have a wheel named after us some day. That’s not the only wheel he has designed either. He now has a set that are modeled after some original C10 wheel covers that he calls Delmo CST's. And going past wheels to the motor, he has created the “Del-S 3” – his version of the popular LS3 motor.

Delmo CST's - Delmo's 22" version of the original 15" C10 wheel covers. To see his new smoothie wheels made by Intro, check out delmospeed.com.

The Del-S1 that went into Larry. A subtle blend of old mixed with new, just like his wheels and his trucks. It seems like this is a recipe for success.

The list goes on and on about his accomplishments, but our point is this: we were thinking about what we hadn’t said in a Driver's Log. We wanted something that we think is about the coolest thing in the hot rod world today, and we didn’t know how I hadn’t written about Delmo yet. He’s been on TV for the Lambrecht Auction and to buy a belly racer from the Auction Hunters guys. He’s designed those incredible wheels that, we think, are only going to become more and more popular. It’s only a matter of time. He’s created a style of LS engines, a great look with trucks, etc. etc. etc. The list could go on and on.

However, the thing that’s coolest about this guy is how approachable he is. He has a very humble attitude and will talk to anyone about trucks. We know because he’s talked with us twice now at Goodguys Phoenix, and to him, we're complete strangers. So here’s to you, Del, for being a master builder, a trend setter, and a great guy. You’re officially in the Triple W “Hall of Fame”.

Here's a few more trucks that Delmo has built, and this is definitely not an exhaustive list. I'm sure I'm missing a few like Django who just got back from SEMA.

This is Pancho. For a magazine article about him, check this link out.

My personal favorite - Sancho - now resides in Europe.

This one is called Grey Goose.

You could say Del thought out of the box on this one... This is Angelo.

This is Red Fox, the truck Delmo was driving when we first met him. We didn't really know what Delmo looked like, but we were able to tell from the wheels, stance, and truck that he definitely built it.

This is the Blazer named Larry that is home to the wheel cover lookalikes and Del-S1 shown above. We got to see this truck in Phoenix last month, and it is outstanding. Check out our Driver's Log about the Southwest Nationals for more coverage and more trucks.

This guy has so much coverage, he's in YouTube videos! Check the subtitles out for more info about what's in each video.

This is Nacho, the one that really got Delmo out there and building trucks in this style. For more info on this truck, check it's magazine article out here.

This is the truck Delmo built for himself and refers to in the AccuAir video about Nacho. There's an article about it here.

This is another AccuAir video showcasing some trucks using their technology. Delmo built the turquoise short wide called The Trader and Larry, who you've seen above already.

Here's another great video showing The Trader, Larry, the Del-S1, and both of his custom sets of wheels.

Here’s a magazine article outlining a few more of his trucks – Nacho, The Kraken, The Heisenberg, and Jackalope. Click here.

This is the last piece of information about Delmo that I could squeeze in here. This video covers his open house during the Grand National Roadster Show. He talks about his history and some of the other moments and items talked about here. In the background you can spot some of the trucks from above when they were still being finished.
